Dedicated Therapy With Jenna Wonish-Mottin, LCSW, RPT

Feel Heard. Make Change. Cope. Feel Calm and Centered.

How I Help Clients

I am dedicated to counseling clients of all ages, helping to find their way and learn their own skills to cope or handle problems on their journey to finding a sense of peace and belonging, happiness, and power over their destiny. Life can beautiful and fun, but sometimes it is confusing or exhausting and you just feel stuck. I’m here to guide you through the obstacles you may face.

My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, find your strengths, and look at things in new ways. I want to help you feel heard, understand your emotions, grow from the past, figure out how you feel and what to do next, be able to cope with changes, and feel more calm and centered through counseling.

It is okay to be yourself. I am here for you. I help kids, teens, and adults of all ages

  • to feel in control of themselves and their life again

  •  to feel like they won't be overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, depression, or the chaos of the world anymore

  • know what makes them valuable and worthwhile

Therapy sessions with me will be different for each client and specific to the individual. The frequency and duration will vary.

My clients describe me as calm, caring, heartwarming and supportive. I am also empathetic and practical. I aim to be insightful, reassuring, and non-judgmental. Clients have reported feeling like I can provide them with guidance, get them thinking, be flexible, and that they feel comfortable opening up and sharing their world with me (even if it is not always in words). I may be a good fit for a child or adult that is a Highly Sensitive Person as I am understanding, have training in this area, and identify has an HSP myself.

My style of therapy is integrative. My counseling approach is client-centered, humanistic, systemic, creative, and tailored to each adult, teen or child's individual  counseling needs. I use what works best for each person, letting individuals choose personal situations they want to explore first as we take things in steps to manage depression, stress, or anxiety and improve their overall wellness.

I am a clinical social worker licensed in Missouri (LCSW#2018027453) and Texas (LCSW#67300). I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Evansville in Indiana. I then decided to go back home to Missouri to continue my education and get my MSW from Washington University in St. Louis' highly acclaimed  Brown School of Social Work. During this time I took many classes and worked in the field, exploring various areas of social work and therapy. After graduation I worked in rural parts of the St. Louis area and the Hannibal, MO area, providing mental health services to adults, teens, children, and their families in office, in home, in schools, and through telehealth. During this time I was able to obtain training to become a Registered Play Therapist.

I moved to the beautiful Woodlands area of Houston, Texas with my husband and two dogs, which allowed me to get more involved in online counseling and create my own counseling practice, Calm Centered Counseling. It also allowed me to spend time in the warm weather enjoying some of my hobbies such as bike riding, hiking, nature photography, relaxing at the beach, gardening, and music.

Contact me now to discuss you or your child's counseling needs. There's no need to continue struggling. I want to help you feel confident and live your best life. I am down to earth and realistic. Don't be afraid to give me a call today to get started with online counseling.
